First of all, through this video I understood that the U.S. has used 'baseball' as the model for teaching sex education. But this person says that for teaching 'sex,' baseball is a bit inappropriate and that 'pizza' is a somewhat better model. When I looked into why, seeing the 'pizza' diagram, I think I get it. 'Sex' has a great deal that is interactive. And he says the focus should not be on 'did you succeed' but should prioritize each other's 'satisfaction.' (I think so too.) As the speaker says, there can be diverse tastes. For example, if you take the sentence 'Do you like bell peppers?', then depending on what the thing compared to 'bell peppers' is in relation to sex, an individual's taste can diverge. If we suppose 'bell pepper = oral,' then asking 'do you like bell peppers' is exactly the same as asking 'do you like oral sex.' But with 'baseball' it's far too hard to make this kind of analogy. Asking whether you hit a double is far too ambiguous!! Second, the baseball model focuses on 'whether you won.' But pizza can be approached as 'Have we sufficiently satisfied our hunger? (Are you fairly full now?)' Isn't that incredibly innovative?? I don't know just what analogies Korean education uses while teaching sex education, but I like this pizza model too. I think the pizza model is the most metaphorical yet intuitive model, one that teaches that negotiation is needed and that talking about what you want is necessary.
Anyway, I think it'll be quicker to understand by listening and watching.
