Spending the day at the PUB.

Spending the leisure part of the daily routine all together at the PUB was something I never expected,

has this institution really turned even the smallest details of life into a single curriculum,

once a week, on one day, each house goes to the 'pub' and has play time.

Calling it 'play time' isn't quite right; it's closer to leisure time,

but as you get around in England, the 'pub' is the most common place where people gather after work,

so rather than treating these 'pubs' as something distant, the students are encouraged to see them as something close at hand.

That said, on the whole it doesn't seem to be a culture of sitting down and drinking endlessly,

most of the time people put on some music and drink while chatting / drinking-and-revelry is a bit different.

Today is likely to be the last pub before the holidays, so I hope it turns out a little fun.

P.S. A foreign friend asked me what Korea's drinking culture is like, so I explained that our defining trait is drinking until we drop. In fact there are quite a few cases where an ambulance gets called, and apparently dozens of people die each year because of 'alcohol'..
