WoW Real-Money Trading Issue #

1. Recently Blizzard suspended 1,800 players who acquired in-game gold through real-money trading.
- The first transaction is a 3-day suspension; after that the suspension period grows longer.

2. In WoW Classic, there are two means of getting gold: one is real-money buying (using sites like Itemmania or Itembay), the other is farming gold in-game.
- Means of farming gold can be divided into joining a gold-pot run or grinding. A representative example of grinding is the mage's Zul'Farrak grind.

3. Is real-money buying necessary?

- To do the loot-gold races where you join a gold-pot to take items, you need gold.
- But if you secure the 'factory' (boss) yourself, you actually don't need gold-pot gold. Because you can pocket the distribution gold that comes out of the gold-pot.

4. Is buying gold via real-money trading reasonable?

- Personally I don't prefer Korean WoW's gold-pot system; I think personal loot, like in BFA, is a bit better. If you get gold via real-money trading and buy items with gold, the value of in-game currency ends up being gold >>>>> items. Then a strange phenomenon happens where you play the game to earn gold. People say you can just buy gold with money, but Blizzard caught and suspended people for this, and there's a strong chance they'll do it again, so I think it's best not to.
- Whether it's desirable for in-game gold to become the number-one of all currency value, I'm not sure. You could call it enjoying the game capitalistically; as we feel in today's society too, capitalism is a world where it's hard to live without money, so if there's a dice-roll pot I think it's fine to go to the dice-roll pot. However, the more users who want to receive at least minimal compensation 'in gold,' the more gold-pots spring up.
- Personally I think a guild raid group is the most desirable.

####
- There was more traffic to this post than expected, so I'm adding.
- If you want to do real-money trading, you buy the gold on Mania, but basically you must absolutely never buy gold from Chinese sweatshops. Among the gold listed, I recommend always choosing gold obtained via gold-pots.
- And when receiving gold in-game, don't use any real-money-trading-related keywords. Don't write Mania, Manya, real-money trade, came to buy gold, etc. — make up code phrases like 'I sent a letter,' 'I sent a note,' 'I came after seeing the star.' Otherwise it stays in the chat log and it's far too easy for Blizzard to track.
- Never trade with a level-1 account. (Trades with level-1 accounts are mostly all caught.)
- And don't trade with people who've traded too frequently. Gold trading itself violates the terms, so too many gold-movement records is risky.
- Dice-roll pots will probably dwindle. Because, apart from gold-pots, people who've finished all their farming lose the motivation to raid. Dice-roll pots will inevitably dwindle that much, so the chance that only gold-pots remain is very, very high.
- I recommend leveling at least one mage to max and preparing to grind. When Zul'Farrak opens, Zul'Farrak grinding is possible too. I think it was said to earn about 300 gold an hour; I expect there's an old video on it.

5. WoW Token?- Classic has no token, and won't in the future either.

6. Going from Classic to BFA or later to Shadowlands?

- The systems differ a lot from Classic; you'll only know by tasting it, so try it yourself and decide.

7. If you pay for Classic, do you not need to pay for BFA?

- The current system is one where, if you pay for WoW, both Classic and BFA are possible. If you have BFA gold, you can pay for a token with BFA gold to enjoy BFA, or enjoy Classic with a token bought with BFA gold — either is fine.

8. Tired of Classic? - Play BFA

- No matter how much BFA is called garbage, it has quite a few systemic aspects better than Classic.
- You can buy a token with gold
- Leveling speed isn't slow
- And if you join a guild, easy farming is possible.

9. Idle talk.

- I plan to return in late November; I only play Alliance, so I'll return on Hyjal,
- My current account has three at max level with gear forbidden (item level roughly paladin 430, death knight 415, warrior 410), and I'm considering brewmaster, warlock, or shadow priest.
